Jakim only recognize their Halal logo

The latest Jakim halal logo, Product or shop which display this halal logo is  guaranteed to serve Halal food.


The old Jakim Halal logo , if there are food shops that still use this halal logo, meaning halal status of the shop is in doubt. 
KUALA LUMPUR: While the date of the compulsory use of Malaysian Halal logo produce by Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) starting today, there are many premises especially those selling food openly challenging the authorities and still displaying the Halal logo from private companies which has been banned.




Survey by Jakim found that almost 1,900 premises still use the banned halal certification such as Halal Logo from Halal Food Council, the Islamic Food Research Council and IFANCA International.

Jakim Halal Hub Director Hakimah Mohamad Yusuf said stern action would be taken as the department has given enough time for them to change to the new Halal logo.
